A teenager who left his four passengers with horror injuries after losing control of his car at 90mph on a Lanarkshire street has dodged jail. Stuart Brydson, 19, drove at excessive speed to 'show off' to his friends months after passing his test.
One passenger filmed Brydson as he put the foot down on the outskirts of East Kilbride. But he lost control of the Vauxhall Astra before hitting a grass embankment and colliding with a tree.
Horrified eyewitnesses contacted the emergency services and all five people were rushed for medical treatment in June last year. One passenger told police: "Stuart was driving heavy fast. He was easy hitting 80-90 and he went into the tree."
