Emergency personnel from multiple communities battled a three-alarm fire affecting mulitple homes in Mount Carmel early Sunday morning.

According to Northumberland County Fire Wire on Facebook and on scene reports from the 200 block of South Poplar Street from residents Don and Nathan Scicchitano, at least five homes were affected and utility lines were down in the area.
