OWATONNA, Minn. — David Ramirez, 26 of Owatonna, faces charges of criminal vehicular homicide and DWI for the death of Christine Possin, 71 of New Richland. Steele County Attorney Robert Jarrett says Ramirez allegedly drove a pickup truck that collided with an SUV operated by Possin near the town of Hope on November 4. Deputies reported detecting an alcohol odor on Ramirez. Jarrett says Ramirez' blood alcohol content was tested at .20 by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Possin was pronounced dead at the scene, while Ramirez was hospitalized and later released. The Steele County Attorney's Office wants to remind the public that criminal charges do not equate to guilt, and every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
