CHARLESTON — A new bakery offering house-made pies, cakes, biscuits and lattes is preparing to open downtown.
Annie Mae's Bakeshop will specialize in Southern savory and sweet treats when it debuts at 185 St. Philip St. in December. The new establishment is owned by Annie and Jason Vieira , who have been selling breads and desserts they prepare in a commissary kitchen to Charleston restaurants for the last two-plus years.
Their new brick-and-mortar cafe will expand on those offerings.
Patrons can expect bacon, egg and cheddar biscuit sandwiches; key lime pie; coconut cream cake; apple caramel sticky buns; and more when Annie Mae's Bakeshop opens next month.
