CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Deliberations have begun in the trial of two men accused of robbing and murdering Brooks’ Restaurant House co-owner Scott Brooks.

Closing arguments in the case of Terry Connor Jr. and Steven Staples started on Monday morning, Nov. 24, and wrapped up around lunchtime.

There was no clear indication of when the jury was expected to reach its verdict, but if they do not by the end of the day Monday, they will not meet again until Wednesday, Nov. 26 – the day before Thanksgiving.

The men were accused of robbing Brooks of $100 and shooting him when he went to open the restaurant on Dec. 9, 2019.

No murder weapon was ever found, but the state argued the cell phone data put the phones belonging to each man close to the scene of the murders at the time of Brooks’s shoot
