Much of the UK is set to be shivering in sub-zero temperatures in hours, following brutal conditions seen in some parts of the country in recent days, weather maps indicate.

The snowflakes fell across various areas of the UK last week with the worst of it seen in Northern England and Scotland, where temperatures dropped as low as -12.6C, reports Express.co.uk.

However weather maps now suggest further teeth-chatteringly low temperatures are on the way tomorrow, and perhaps even more snowfall.

By 6am UTC / GMT on Wednesday, nearly the whole of Great Britain is expected to be seeing the mercury below 0C, a map by WXCHART.C
