Following reports that children began “feeling sick” after going swimming there, a popular water park in Coatbridge has closed one of its slides.

The Time Capsule in Coatbridge has closed the Tantrum slide as a precaution after North Lanarkshire Council confirmed tests for chlorine gas had been satisfactory.

Visitors reported that their children felt unwell after visiting the leisure centre over the weekend (November 22 and November 23), a spokesperson for North Lanarkshire Council has now said further checks are under way, with the rest of the water park open as normal.

They added: “While all our chlorine and water tests have been satisfactory, we have closed the Tantrum slide as a precaution to carry out further checks.
