ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — One Atlanta church is working to provide a full pantry for families this Thanksgiving.
Cascade United Methodist Church (UMC) in southwest Atlanta hosted its annual Thanksgiving basket giveaway Monday morning with cars lined up down the street before the sun came up.
“I got out here this morning at 4,” said Francis Bowell.
Boswell was one of the first people in line to pick up his bags of food, which included bread, eggs, potatoes, apples, a turkey and more. The church said it’s enough to feed a family of four for a week.
“I look around, I seen cars all the way down by the expressway,” said Boswell. “I got out and looking around, looked up there and I ain’t seen nothing but cars.”
That’s because Cascade UMC put out the call that they could feed more
