WEBSTER TWP., MI - A Dexter-area barn was damaged in a Sunday evening fire.

Fire crews were called around 5 p.m., Nov. 23, for a report of a structure fire at a pole barn off Jennings Road near Independence Lake in Webster Township, said Doug Armstrong, chief of the Dexter Area Fire Department.

Smoke and flames were coming out of the single-story barn when crews arrived, Armstrong said. The owners were able to remove some of the equipment being stored in the barn when the fire started. No animals or people were injured.

A small building adjacent to the barn had minor heat damage to its exterior, Armstrong said.

The fire was brought under control in roughly 30 minutes. The cause is under investigation.
