You’re going to have plenty of company on the state ferries this holiday weekend.
More than 300,000 passengers are expected to catch a ferry over the holiday weekend.
“That’s more than we saw last year,” Washington State Ferries (WSF) spokesperson Dana Warr said. “We saw about 290,000 riders last year, and we expect Thanksgiving to be the busiest day, with 60,000 to 70,000 riders just on that one day alone.”
The ferry service is also operating at full capacity for the first time in years. There are 17 boats in operation.
“We’ll increase our sailings by about 10% routes that weren’t in service or fully in service last year, fully in service this year,” Warr said.
