FALCONER, N.Y. — What could be the first significant Lake Effect snowstorm may affect the Southern Tier and southern portions of Erie County later this week, and Public Works Departments in the region have been busy since September making sure their plow trucks and other equipment are in good working order.

Erie County DPW Commissioner William Geary told 2 On Your Side, "We have 41 trucks ready right now to go out for our 36 plow routes so we definitely have a couple in reserve. We're still settling up a few trucks as we speak. The crews have been working meticulously on all our equipment early - they started as early as mid September."
