AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - The family of Jazmir Tucker, the 15-year-old who was shot and killed last Thanksgiving by an officer with the Akron Police Department, will announce Tuesday that they have filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the city of Akron, Mayor Shammas Malik, Akron Police Chief Brian Harding, Officer Davon Fields and numerous other police officers and parties.
The complaint alleges unconstitutional use of force and municipal liability for training and oversight failures, among other claims, according to the Cochran Firm, which represents the Tucker family.
