Eric Dane depicts life with ALS and the struggles with accepting help from family in one of his first acting roles since being diagnosed with the neurodegenerative disorder.

The "Euphoria" and former "Grey's Anatomy" star appears as a firefighter living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in the Nov. 24 episode of the NBC hospital drama "Brilliant Minds." (NBCUniversal is TODAY.com's parent company.)

Dane, 53, who shared in April that he has the incurable disease, plays Matthew Ramati, a gruff firefighter with a wry sense of humor who is adjusting to life with ALS.

Ramati is being treated by Dr. Oliver Wolf, played by series star Zachary Quinto, and Carol Pierce, the chair of psychiatry at the hospital, played by Tamberla Perry.
