Carlisle Borough’s emergency alert provider, CodeRED, experienced a targeted cyberattack, the borough announced Monday.
The borough said some user contact information stored on CodeRED might have been removed and could potentially be leaked.
Although there is currently no evidence that the stolen data has been posted online, officials advise anyone who created a CodeRED account using a password they reused elsewhere to change those passwords immediately, the borough said on Facebook .
Officials said people who have signed up without creating a password-protected profile do not need to take any precautionary actions.
Potentially affected information includes name, address, email, phone number and passwords used for CodeRED profiles.
