AUSTIN, Texas — A South Austin dance studio will soon be a place for creatives to enjoy, thanks to a major expansion and a new economic incentive program from the city of Austin. The project will add thousands of square feet of studio and event space, including a new theater designed to hold hundreds of people.

Balance Dance Studios on South Lamar has been looking into expanding its space for more than 10 years now.

"Right now our classes are booming; our rental program is at capacity," said Dani Simmons, the director of development Balance Dance Studios. "There's so many creatives in the community we can't even host because of our own programming."
