Severe storms were moving through parts of Alabama early Tuesday morning, and more storms will be possible through the day today, according to the National Weather Service.

The overnight and early morning round of storms was mainly affecting northern and central Alabama.

Forecasters issued several severe thunderstorm warnings overnight and early this morning, and storms have caused reports of downed trees in parts of central and west Alabama.

The weather service said several additional rounds of storms will be possible through the day, and some of those could also become severe.

Damaging winds are the main concern, but tornadoes and hail can’t be ruled out, either.
