LOUISVILLE, Ky. — River Road is no stranger to construction.
The busy Louisville corridor that stretches along the Ohio River has been under construction for the Louisville Water Company's Residual Line Project since March.
This project is to improve the overall system's reliability and is expected to go through summer 2026.
At the same time, the pipeline project is expected to come to a close, the city is planning to start another project.
The River Rd. Rightsizing Project is expected to start in the fall of 2026.
Rightsizing is a common strategy to improve roadway safety and accessibility. It can include adding turn lanes, on-street parking, bike lanes, and shortening pedestrian crossing distances.
