CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (WSIL) -- The City of Cape Girardeau Regional Airport is set to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new flight service to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The event will take place on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 2 p.m.

The inaugural flight is scheduled to depart at 3:30 p.m. Attendees can expect a ceremonial water cannon salute by the City of Cape Girardeau Fire Department and remarks from special guest speakers. A "special seasonal couple" will also be present to celebrate and join the inaugural flight.

“This new flight to DFW is a game-changer for our region,” said JoJo Stuart, CGI Airport Manager. “It strengthens our connectivity, supports economic growth, and provides our travelers with more options and convenience.”
