NEW RIVER, AZ (AZFamily) — Search and rescue crews on Tuesday found a body believed to be a man swept away by floodwaters near New River over the weekend .

Christopher Couch was first reported missing on Sunday morning when someone called 911 to report that a car had been swept away by floodwaters in the Agua Fria River near Table Mesa and Interstate 17 .

MCSO search and rescue teams, along with lake patrol and aviation units, immediately responded to the area. Despite the remote location, crews rescued a woman in the car, but the man was missing.

While crews were searching for the driver, they found a second vehicle being carried away in the flood. One of the deputies used a drone to find the two people who were in that car. MCSO says both people were able to get out of the vehicl
