[WATERLOO, Iowa] — Families throughout the Cedar Valley enjoyed an early Thanksgiving meal, thanks to the 44th Annual Mike and Leona Adams Thanksgiving Dinner. This longstanding tradition, first held in 1982 due to a farming crisis, continues to support local communities.
The event took place at the UAW Local 838 office, where families picked up meals featuring turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. The gathering is known as the largest free Thanksgiving meal in the Cedar Valley area.
Veridian Credit Union plays a significant role in the event, helping to prepare between 1,200 and 1,300 meals each year. They express gratitude for the opportunity to give back to the community in a meaningful way and encourage others to get involved.
