Over 700 firefighters are battling the blaze in Hong Kong's northern Tai Po district

Thirteen people have died and at least 15 others injured in a fire across several high-rise apartment blocks in Hong Kong.

The blaze spread across multiple buildings at Wang Fuk Court housing estate in the northern Tai Po district. The estate is home to around 4,600 people and has nearly 2,000 flats in high-rise buildings.

A total of 767 firefighters, along with 128 fire engines, 57 ambulances and 400 police officers, are at the scene tackling the fire.

The fire was reported at 2.51pm local time (6.51am GMT). It began in Wang Cheong House but quickly spread to neighbouring Wang Tai House and Wang Shing House before engulfing the entire cluster.
