LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
A new sign of progress on Grade Lane, after three weeks of silence, some businesses are finally seeing lights back on and customers returning. But while certain parts of the road are open, it isn’t fully operational yet, and cars will be turned around at a certain point.
Part of the road near Don Hutson Boulevard reopened Friday for the first time since the UPS cargo plane crash that killed 14 people and shut down the area for the investigation.
At Rusty Rooster Recycling, the owners say Friday felt like a restart.
“A lot of times go into a job every day. You can kind of take it for granted. But I don't think that's something anybody around here is going to be doing. I think everybody's going to be happy to have a job to go to as well, just to have a purpose again,” s
