STREETSBORO, Ohio — Police are searching for a woman who they say pepper-sprayed a cashier during a robbery at a Dollar General in Streetsboro on Tuesday night.
The robbery happened around 8:15 p.m. at the store on State Route 14.
Investigators say the woman walked in, picked up several items and brought them to the register. Once there, she demanded money from the safe, threw the items at the cashier and then sprayed the employee with pepper spray.
Surveillance video released by police shows the cashier trying to shield themself as another employee, who was off-camera, called 911. The suspect ran out of the store moments later and drove away.
In a Facebook post, police said she turned left out of the parking lot and continued east on Route 14 toward Ravenna.
