Upper Darby firefighters pulled together to help those in need this Thanksgiving.

On Saturday, members gathered at the Cardington fire station to deliver 40-plus boxes of food for Thanksgiving meals.

The event was organized by retired Chief Ed Cubler, an Upper Darby native and life-long fireman who has been collecting and organizing Thanksgiving food baskets for families in need for decades.

The boxes included full meals and extra items for families to have a true Thanksgiving/holiday meal.

Upper Darby Fire Department, IAFF Local 2493 Shop Steward Josh Laubach said members, as well as the new Fire Chief Nick Martin, along with their families, met at Cardington and got the 40-plus boxes quickly delivered.
