Drivers travelling north and south through central Lambton County may wish to avoid Wyoming during the second half of next week.

A section of Broadway Street, the Plympton-Wyoming community’s main drag and part of Lambton County’s Oil Heritage Road, will be closed to traffic Dec. 1 at 6 a.m. to Dec. 5 around 7 p.m., while CN repairs a troublesome crossing.

Traffic will be detoured on other country roads while the crossing is closed. Neither local traffic nor emergency vehicles will be able to use the crossing during the repair period.

Portable signs have been placed along the county road to alert drivers to the upcoming detour.

This will be the latest attempt to address longstanding issues for drivers using the crossing for the main rail line that cuts Wyoming in half. Broadway Street
