President Zelenskyy says his chief of staff Andriy Yermak has resigned – after anti-corruption agents staged a raid at his home.

Mr Yermak – who has not been accused of any wrongdoing – has become increasingly unpopular in Ukraine amid the growing scandal over a kickback scheme at the top of the strategic energy sector.

In his televised address, Mr Zelenskyy said “if we lose unity, we risk losing everything”.

But it comes at a time of extreme jeopardy for Ukraine, with some reports claiming the Americans want to sign a deal with Russia allowing them to keep Ukrainian territory which they have already seized by force.
