SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - On Friday, Nov. 28, Sioux City Police have responded to over 50 accidents.

Sergeant Mark Huberty says there were less accidents Saturday morning and attributes it to people staying home.

However, accidents are still happening.

“People are just driving too fast for conditions. And, we’re getting a lot of accidents where people are just driving off the road, hitting light poles, street signs and such. All of the accidents that we’ve had are pretty much contributed to the speed,“ said Huberty.

Huberty offers a few tips if you have to be on the road.

Pay attention to the drivers around you because they might not be able to stop in time.

Tap on the gas and brake pedal to avoid spinning your tires.

If you start sliding, take your foot off the gas and steer into the ski
