AVON, Conn. (WFSB) - Crews battled a house fire on Saturday evening in Avon.

Firefighters responded to the house on Francis Street around 10:39 p.m.

According to the fire department, a 58-year-old woman and her two dogs had safely gotten themselves out of the home.

There were no injuries.

The fire department quickly contained the blaze, however police did not know what caused the fire.
