LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Emergency crews located a car that was driven into the Ohio River in downtown Louisville on Saturday, but are still searching for the driver.
According to Louisville Metro Police, officers responded to a call at around 7:30 p.m. of a water rescue in the Ohio River near the Great Lawn area of Waterfront Park on Saturday, Nov. 29.
First responders were informed that a tugboat on the river saw a car drive off the waterfront near the Joe’s Crab Shack and into the river.
River traffic was temporarily stopped while LMPD and Louisville Fire sent boats to search the area.
At around 9 p.m., crews successfully located the car, but did not find the driver.
