Every year around the holidays, conversations about benefits begin to pop up. Paid time off and long lists of perks often take center stage, which can create pressure for small business owners. You want to support your employees, but you may not have the same resources as a large corporation. Many of the most impactful benefits are created with intention rather than money.
Earlier this week I saw a post from a local Yuma business that really stood out. They announced they would stay open on Thanksgiving and that every dollar earned that day would go directly to the employees who volunteered to work. It recognized that not everyone is looking for time off during the holidays. That post was a reminder that meaningful benefits do not have to be expensive.
