SPOKANE, Wash. - The former prosecuting attorney for Spokane County, Donald C. Brockett, died on November 14 at the age of 89 according to an obituary from the Holy Cross of Spokane.

Brockett served as the prosecuting attorney for Spokane County from 1970 to 1994.

" Don lived a life defined by quiet strength, unwavering integrity, and a deep devotion to his family," the obituary said. " The respected prosecuting attorney for more than 34 years, he spent his career fighting for justice while always finding time to teach his children and grandchildren the value of hard work and kindness."

Brockett was well known for prosecuting the 1981 rape trial of the notorious "South Hill rapist" Kevin Coe, which led to four convictions. Three of them were later overturned.
