KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) - A man has been arrested after shots were fired at a public housing complex in Kinston.
On Wednesday around 6:37 p.m., officers with the Kinston Police Department went to Jack Rountree Homes after receiving a report of shots fired.
A witness told officers that 45-year-old Anthony Berry had fired a handgun into the air during an argument before leaving the scene.
Officials say Berry was later found in a nearby parking lot with another individual, and officers conducted a frisk of him and his vehicle. A handgun was found on the ground where Berry had been standing.
Berry was taken into custody with six charges, including possession of a firearm by a felon, discharging a firearm within the city limits of Kinston, and assault by pointing a gun.
