LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - With snow in the forecast tonight through Tuesday morning, Louisville Metro Government is preparing to treat roads.
Tuesday’s morning commute could be slick with a mix of rain, ice, and snow.
On Monday, the city has 14 trucks out to brine high-traffic roads and known trouble spots. Brine helps prevent ice from bonding to pavement. The city is also staffing overnight crews to clear roads as the weather rolls in.
The wintry mix transitions to all snow across the entire region after midnight and continues through sunrise on Tuesday. Snow accumulations of 1-3 inches are possible for southern Indiana and toward the Kentucky Parkways.
