A woman just days away from giving birth has been found dead in a woodland area in the US, prompting an urgent police search for her missing baby.

Rebecca Park, 22, disappeared on the evening of 4 November after leaving her mother’s home in Boon Township, Michigan. She was 38 weeks pregnant. According to witnesses, she was last seen getting into the passenger seat of a dark-coloured vehicle parked outside the house - and from that moment, there was no further contact.

Her mobile phone was later discovered abandoned close to her mum’s property, the US Mirror reported.
