On Monday at 12:31 p.m. the National Weather Service released a winter storm warning valid from Tuesday 7 a.m. until Wednesday 1 a.m. for Berkshire County.

“Total snow accumulations between 7 and 11 inches,” can be anticipated according to the weather service. “Moderate to heavy snow will impact the evening commute Tuesday. Snowfall rates of 0.5′ to 1′ are expected within the warned areas. Caution is advised for all motorists.”

“Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes,” states the weather service. “If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.”
