Police are investigating two unrelated nonfatal shootings in Waterbury over Thanksgiving weekend.
Early Saturday morning, officers were in the area of Grand Street around 1:45 a.m. when they heard what sounded like gunshots, according to the Waterbury Police Department . Shortly after, a man who sustained gunshot wounds
checked himself in at a local hospital.
Police said the victim, a 39-year-old Waterbury man, sustained gunshot wounds to his arm and abdomen, which medical staff determined to be non-life-threatening.
According to police, the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident between two small groups of individuals.
