CHARLESTON, W.Va. — U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe remained in critical condition Tuesday, according to the West Virginia National Guard.
The Guard confirmed there was no change in Wolfe's condition and said family members remained by his side, along with military leadership and fellow Guardsmen.
Wolfe, 24, of Martinsburg and Inwood, was injured in a terrorist attack near the White House that killed West Virginia National Guard Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, of Webster Springs.
On Monday, Gov. Patrick Morrisey said Wolfe had been showing encouraging signs.
Wolfe was able to respond with a thumbs-up when prompted by a nurse and wiggled his toes, the governor said.
“These are small but positive steps. We are hopeful and keeping him in our thoughts and prayers,” Morrisey said.
