DALLAS — A driveway and side yard in Preston Hollow look like the owners of the home went a bit overboard for Halloween — a pile of pumpkins and gourds some five feet high.

But they are actually there for a good reason - and eventually - a good meal.

"This just takes the cake," said neighbor Nathan Jones, who stopped Monday to take pictures of the pumpkins on Monday afternoon. "I thought this was the most fantastic thing I'd ever seen in this neighborhood. Actually, in my lifetime, I've never seen this many pumpkins."

And quite frankly, neither had Norah Meier-Maroulis.

"The first year, the entire driveway was full. It has grown since then. And now we have this," she said, pointing to her yard.

For the third year, she invited neighbors to place their non-carved and unpainted discarded
