As Stockton residents await news of arrests in the deadly mass shooting at a toddler’s birthday party, community members continue to rally behind the victims and their families.

Stockton Mayor Christina Fugazi said the violence that rocked her city Saturday evening has left hearts shattered. Since then, she’s been focused on supporting the families who lost their children when several suspects opened fire at the party.

“I have so much compassion for these families and what they’re going through,” Fugazi said. “Having spoken to them personally, we need to make sure that their needs are being met at this critical time.”
