EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - No. 7 Michigan State men’s basketball stayed unbeaten and opened its Big Ten schedule with a 71-52 win over Iowa at the Breslin Center on Tuesday.

Iowa led 7-6 about five minutes into the game before MSU went on a 19-3 run over the next ten minutes and took a 14-point lead into halftime.

The second half was more of the same, with MSU continuing to get what it wanted on the offensive end while stifling the Hawkeyes.

MSU shot 50% from the field while holding the Hawkeyes to 38%.

Coen Carr led all scorers with 15 points. Jeremy Fears Jr. had 14 points and a team-high six assists. Jaxon Kohler had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
