WYTHEVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) - In a time of grief, corrections officers from across the country came together to honor one of their own.
A memorial service was held in Wytheville to honor Jeremy Lewis Hall who was killed on the job at River North Correctional Center in November.
For over two weeks, the name “Jeremy Hall” has been recognized in headlines across the country as a corrections officer killed in the line of duty after a violent inmate attack .
But on Tuesday, his name went beyond that horrific incident. Instead, Jeremy Hall is remembered as a man full of kindness and bravery.
“He healed me in the safety of his love and the embrace of his arms. He allowed me to be living and be the best version of myself, and to be honest, he did that for everyone,” said Dawn Hall.
