Opening statements began Tuesday in the rape trial for escaped inmate Antoine Massey.

The first witness called was Diamond White, the woman at the center of the case. White took the stand and immediately told prosecutors she did not remember much of the night in question. She repeatedly stated she has “never said she was raped,” insisted she could not recall key details, and told jurors she had been high on multiple pills, including ecstasy and had not taken her prescribed mental-health medication.
