The National Police have arrested former Secretary to the President and Cabinet (SPC) Colleen Zamba at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in Lilongwe.

A trusted source at the airport confirmed that Zamba was initially detained within the airport’s VIP lounge before officers from Area 30 Police Headquarters arrived to take her into custody.

“It’s true, she has been formally arrested. As we speak, the police are taking her to Lingadzi Police Station, where she will be processed,” the source said on condition of anonymity.

Zamba was reportedly travelling to Geneva via South Africa, though the purpose of her trip has not yet been disclosed.
