A British tourist has been brutally stabbed outside a beach club on a popular party island.
Louis Johe Jarvie suffered a knife wound to his arm in the incident after being attacked in Cherng Talay, Phuket , in the early hours of the morning. The 34-year-old was taken to Thalang hospital, where he is currently recovering.
“Witnesses said they saw a large foreign man stab the British man in the arm,” police said in a statement. “The victim is now feeling better but is not ready to respond.” Officers are studying CCTV footage of the area in an attempt to identify the suspect.
Police have urged witnesses to come forward. Millions of visitors flock to the island every year and a recent study found that that Phuket has a staggering 118 tourists for every local inhabitant.
