If you are looking for a chance to wear Victorian attire, Dickens Downtown is taking over Northport tonight (Dec. 2) with a procession, tree lighting and snow in the forecast.
Characters from “A Christmas Carol” will parade as Queen Victoria and Father Christmas travel in a horse-drawn carriage down Main Avenue. A Christmas tree lighting will follow.
“Visitors can also enjoy hot chocolate and cookies and view fresh cut decorative fir trees in the main sanctuary lobby (of Northport Baptist Church),” according to the Facebook page of Dickens Downtown.
Visitors can display their own frock coats and layered skirts in free horse-drawn carriage and train rides. Model trains and a nativity scene will be on display and the cast of Theatre Tuscaloosa will sing Christmas carols. Tours of Histori
