WILLIAM Christison ( Letters, Dec 2 ) makes a sound argument in support of Graeme McCormick’s previous comments that we need more “doers” than “talkers” and this need will be emphasised when Scotland becomes independent.
In his letter William states that “Swinney isn’t pushing for independence in any meaningful way” although I’m not sure if these words came from first-hand knowledge or whether he is simply repeating a trope of some SNP detractors. Certainly there is much more the SNP could have done over the last decade to advance independence, but dwelling on past shortcomings will not take us to independence.
