A Shelby County group home employee has been arrested following a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) probe into allegations of abuse involving an intellectually disabled TennCare patient.

According to the TBI, agents launched the investigation in November at the request of Adult Protective Services. The inquiry focused on 73-year-old Queen Ester Reese, who was working as a caregiver at the time.

Agents determined that Reese was involved in the physical and emotional abuse of a male resident in her care.

On December 2, TBI agents obtained a warrant and took Reese into custody. She was booked into the Shelby County Jail on a $2,500 bond and is charged with Abuse of a Vulnerable Adult.
