STARK COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - A 49-year-old Canton Township man was arrested Wednesday evening for stabbing his parents, according to the Stark County Sheriff.

Joshua Lee Shaffer was taken into custody at the family’s home in the 600 block of Carnwise St. SE. around 5:30 p.m.

When deputies arrived at the home, they found both the mom and dad suffering from stab wounds.

The 71-year-old mom is at Aultman Hospital with life-threatening injuries and is listed in stable condition.

Shaffer’s 71-year-old dad has non-life-threatening injuries and is also being treated at Aultman Hospital.

Their names have not been released.

Two counts of attempted murder

Two counts of felonious assault

Two counts of domestic violence

One count of disrupting public service
