At 10:54 a.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service released a snow squall warning in effect until 11:45 a.m. for Herkimer and Montgomery counties.
"At 10:52 a.m., a dangerous snow squall was located over Utica, moving southeast at 40 mph," states the weather service. "This includes Interstate 90 between exits 29A and 30."
Locations impacted by the warning include Ilion, Herkimer, Little Falls, Mohawk, Frankfort, Fort Plain, St. Johnsville, West Winfield, Jordanville, Cedarville, Elizabethtown, Warren, Ingham Mills, Spinnerville, Cedar Lake, Countryman, South Ilion, Mindenville, Kelhi Corners and Chepachet.
