On Thursday at 12:25 p.m. an updated snow squall warning was released by the National Weather Service in effect until 1 p.m. for Broome, Chenango, Delaware and Otsego counties.
"At 12:25 p.m., a dangerous snow squall was located along a line extending from near Sanitaria Springs to near Unadilla to Colliersville to Summit, moving east at 45 mph," says the weather service. "Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous within minutes."
Locations impacted by the warning include Oneonta, Sidney, Walton, Delhi, Davenport, Roxbury, Sanford, Colchester, Maryland and Kortright.
The weather service states, "Reduce speed and turn on headlights! During snow squalls, the visibility may suddenly drop to near zero in whiteout conditions."
